My name is Justine, I am a curious person and a recent Honors Specialization in Families and Nutrition Graduate of Brescia University College (Bachelor of Arts – Human Ecology). Our human body, and the impact that yoga has on our physical and mental health amazes me. I am passionate about the philosophy and physical practice of yoga as well as how our environment (including relationships, nutrition, and where we live) impacts a persons overall well-being. My teaching intention is to present this to students in a safe and smart way so that you may walk away from my class feeling peaceful, content and free 🙂

I grew up in rural South Western Ontario, have lived in Toronto on and off for the past 10 years – including a year long stint in Sydney Australia, and studying for a few years at Brescia University College here in London – and have now settled in the great Forest City of London, ON.
Several years ago – while at home on maternity leave, in a small apartment downtown Toronto, suffering from chronic pain following invasive head and neck surgery, an infant, two dogs, and my partner to care for I realized that I needed a low impact way to get some physical activity in while at home – this is how I ‘found’ yoga. My practice began with Nicki Doane’s Begginer Ashtanga DVD, taking this time to myself nearly daily was a breath of fresh air. I quickly realized that practicing yoga helped calm my mind and made my body feel better which offered many benefits including relief from chronic pain, confidence, how to deal with and smile through daily life strife’s through breathing techniques, among other things.
My practice and exposure to yoga expanded from there as I subscribed to an online program with Gaiam.tv (now Gaia). After about a year of home practice I joined a studio close to home where enjoyed different styles and teachers of Hatha yoga including Flow, Ashtanga, Power and Core Flow classes. My occasional practice turned in to a daily practice and in summer of 2015 I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT-200hr) certification with Rachel Scott and Lisa Messina at Yyoga in Toronto. I have continued my studies in Vinyasa Yoga with Duncan Parivianen (20-hr, Nov 2017) and traveled to Miami to practice Ashtanga with Kino MacGregor (Dec 2018). Currently I teach at my home studio in London.
Teaching yoga within my community gives me a feeling of fulfillment I have never experienced before in my career. As a student and a teacher of Yoga I am dedicated to continue experimenting and learning more about yoga postures and philosophy to share that with you.
